For Vanja, Sunday starts with one of those chores that always gets postponed – washing the dishes. The pile in the sink seems to stare at her challengingly as she sighs deeply, realizing there’s no way to avoid the task. Dressed in a pink short-sleeved T-shirt, Vanja reluctantly gets to work. The water is warm, the soap suds up nicely, but she can’t hide the look of boredom on her face. “Can’t they just clean themselves?” she thinks as she scrubs away at stubborn stains.
After some time, the dishes are clean and neatly arranged, and the sink is sparkling. She takes a moment to look around the tidy kitchen, feeling a small sense of accomplishment. “It wasn’t fun, but at least it’s done,” she says with a hint of relief.
Now that the unpleasant chore is out of the way, she can finally enjoy the rest of her day. Perhaps a good book or a warm cup of tea awaits her – after all, it’s Sunday, the perfect day to relax and recharge for the new week.
